Selma PD: Murder suspect should be considered armed & dangerous

Selma Police are looking for Cedric DeAngelo Oliver in connection to a Sunday shooting that left a 27-year-old man dead from a gunshot wound to the head.
The department has issued an arrest warrant for Oliver for murder. Lt. Curtis Muhannad, with the Selma Police Department described the 27-year-old suspect as black male who is 5-foot-7 and weighs 152 pounds.
“Cedric Oliver is considered armed and extremely dangerous,” Muhannad said. “Law enforcement officers are advised to approach with extreme caution.”
SPD Sgt. Evelyn Ghant announced Monday that the department responded Sunday to the 600 block of Johnson Street in reference to a call about possible shots fired in the area.
Police found a man District Attorney Michael Jackson identified as Selmont resident Daniel Barnett with a gunshot wound to the head.
Barnett received aid from Care Ambulance but died before he could be airlifted to a trauma center.

Anyone with information that leads to the apprehension or capture of Oliver could receive up to a $1,000 reward. Information shared with the department will be confidential.
