Three Selma residents are behind bars after using a stolen credit card to make $2,000 in purchases at multiple stores in the area.
In a news release, Selma police investigator Lt. Curtis Muhannad said Uribe Rashun Sneed, 22, Christopher Tobias Davis, 26, and Tyedreke Antone Perry, 40, were arrested Thursday afternoon following an investigation that began after several suspicious charges were noticed by the credit card company earlier in the week.
Muhannad said the card’s owner contacted police Tuesday after being notified the card was being used to make several purchases at the Selma Mall. One of the purchases was for a total of $998 at the Selma Mall Footlocker store.
Muhannad said investigators learned Sneed had received the card, which had apparently been dropped by its owner, from a customer while he was working at Autozone on Highland Avenue Monday.
After making three purchases with the card, Muhannad said Sneed sold it to Davis for $20 on Tuesday. Davis made three purchases and attempted two more with the card before passing it to Perry who made one more purchase and attempted another before it was canceled.
Muhannad said the suspects used the card at Footlocker, Hibbett Sporting Goods, Cougar Oil and Wal-Mart during their 24-hour shopping spree. Unfortunately for them, Muhannad said each transaction was caught on surveillance cameras.
All three are being held at the Dallas County Jail on various charges and bonds.
Sneed is facing three counts of fraudulent use of a credit card and one count of theft of lost property with a total bond of $51,000. Davis has been charged with three counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, two counts of attempted fraudulent use of a credit card and one count of receiving stolen property third degree, which together carry a total bond of $81,000.
Perry is being held on a total bond of $36,000 and is charged with one count of fraudulent use of a credit card, one count of attempted fraudulent use of a credit card and one count of receiving stolen property third degree.
