Youth football registration to begin on July 23
It’s almost time for youth football players in Selma to lace up their cleats and hit the gridiron.
Registration for the upcoming youth football season will start Wednesday, July 23 at the recreation department office at Memorial Stadium.
All players, even if they played last year, must register and pay a $10 fee.
To register, players must bring their birth certificate, registration fee of $10 and have an adult sign their registration card.
To be eligible to play, players must be age 5-12 before May 1
The child must be present so that they can be weighed at the time of registration.
Registration will take place from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. each day at the recreation office. Registration will also take place on Saturday, July 26; Saturday, August 2; Saturday, August 9; Saturday, August 16; and on Saturday, August 23.
The final date of registration is August 30. Any players who register after August 30 will be replaced on a waiting list.
There will be a mandatory meeting for all returning and new coaches on Monday, July 28 at 5:30 p.m. in the recreation office.
