Velma EvaLee Barrett, 80, of Maplesville died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster.

She was born on Monday, September 5, 1932 in Chilton Co., AL, Daughter of the late Rev. Jesse C. Mitchell and the late Polly Moates Mitchell.

She was a Manager.

Surviving are her Children, Debbie (Wayne) Freeman, Sr. of Maplesville, AL, Lisa (Mark) Smith of Centreville, AL; Honorary Children, Joyce (Leslie) Hale of Prattville, AL, Kenny (Sharee) Barrett, Sr. of Maplesville, AL, LeCretia (Jeff) Rogers of Plantersville, AL; Grandchildren, Jerry “Jay” (Amy) Freeman, Eric (Kylie) Freeman, Brian Freeman, Matt (Lacey) Freeman, Kayla (Bill) DeBoard, Amanda Smith; Great-Grandchildren, Katlyn Freeman, Coley Freeman, Caleb Freeman & Lilly Freeman; Great-Grandchild, Pace Freeman; Brother, Donald Mitchell of Clanton, AL; Sister, Lillian McCall of Prattville, AL. A Host of Nieces & Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Rev. Jesse C. & Polly Mitchell , Brother, Renzie Mitchell and Sister, Evaree Minor.

Friends will be received from 6-8, Tuesday, January 8, 2013 @ Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. at Clanton Church of God with Rev. Billy Boatwright and Rev. Joey Boatwright officiating.

Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Maplesville, AL.
