The only update that has come in the last three weeks in the ongoing search for Adline George is the announcement this week of reward money.
A $2,000 reward now sits on the table for anyone who knows the location of the 89-year-old who vanished from her home sometime around July 31.
Since she went missing, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department, along with other search and rescue teams, have been unable to generate any leads from Crimestoppers tip lines or find any traceable scent with K-9 units. Search teams have searched through thick wooded areas in a 10-mile radius around George’s home, where she lived with her 93-year-old husband Alex George.
George is a member of the Beloit Community and has lived there for more than 40 years, her daughter Mamie George said. This leads the family to believe that if George has wandered off, someone might have seen her and even picked her up.
George suffers from the beginning stages of dementia and takes medication for diabetes.
Authorities ask anyone who thinks they may have information that would help concerning Adline George to call Crimstoppers at 1-866-44-CRIME.
“Don’t think any little tip is small because even if you think you may have seen her — it doesn’t have to be her. We are just looking for anything … anything,” Sgt. Mike Granthum with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department said last week. “Nothing … we have no new evidence, no anything. We are searching different areas and we have expanded our search out away from the residence. We did a four or five mile search to start with and now we have extended out into other places with no tips or anything.”
Granthum said no tip is too small, even it seems like the tip would not help, it could help the authorities in their search for George since they are currently running off of no information at all.
George is an 89-year-old black female, 5-foot, 2-inches and 120 pounds. She was last seen sleeping on the couch in her home wearing a light green blouse and green sweatpants and is thought to be in the Orrville area.
