Louise Dennard Lockett

Louise Dennard Lockett, age 94 formerly of Selma, passed away in Birmingham on Tuesday, December 13, 2011.

She was a member of Selma First Baptist Church and she retired after many years as a dental hygienist. Mrs. Lockett was a member of the William Rufus King Chapter of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution and of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

Mrs. Lockett was preceded in death by her husband John Abner Lockett and her son John Abner Lockett, Jr.  She is survived by her daughter: Sue Lockett Lovoy (Steve); daughter in law: Martha Beasley Lockett; grandchildren: Elizabeth L. Smith (Ken), John A. Lockett, III (Erin), Sue L. Willis (Nicholas), Peyton B. Lockett (Traci) and Steve P. Lovoy, Jr. (Emily) and by her great grandchildren: Carter Willis, Callen Willis, John Lockett, IV and Catherine Lockett.

The family will have a private graveside service at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers memorials honoring Mrs. Louise Lockett may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association of the American Stroke Association.
