“I really can’t tell you anything but there was a shooting,” Selma Police Detective Fred Walker said.

A crowd gathered around the yellow police tape as a Care ambulance crew loaded a man onto a gurney and rolled him into the vehicle.

A woman walked by the yellow crime scene tape and looked over the way.

“Stop the violence,” she said.

Onlookers declined to talk about what they saw or heard.

The man tended to by paramedics appeared to have had a gunshot wound to his back. He was conscious as paramedics worked on him.

Police officers talked to the wounded man before he was transported to the hospital.

Walker said another shooting victim had already arrived at the hospital.

Authorities said they did not have any leads there on the scene of the shooting. No arrests were made.

Authorities continued to work the scene into the later part of the evening.

At Vaughan Regional Medical Center, a small group of people talked among themselves outside the emergency room door. Several were texting on their telephones.

Officers went into the emergency to follow-up on their investigation.
