SGT Ricky DeWayne Jones (Mo-Joe) was killed in the line of duty while honorably serving our country in Afghanistan on Father’s Day, June 21, 2009. He was a graduate of Dallas County High School where he was a star running back and affectionately named “MoJoe”. He was a loving husband, father, son and brother.
He is survived by: a loving wife Fredda; four sons, Kenderrick, Marius, I’Kemeyon and Jemerius; Loving and understanding parents Stanley and Sheila; A loving father Willie Tyus; Four sisters; grandparents and a host of other family and friends. Sgt. Ricky Jones served his country with loyalty, respect and admiration.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 11am at Dallas County High School with internment in Elyton Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor J. Curry Officiating. Sgt. Jones will lie in state at Miller Funeral Home on Friday, June 26, 2009 from 2pm-8pm. 608 Saint Phillips Street Selma, Alabama 36703.
