Helen Leigh Powell, age 80, a resident of Valley Grande, AL, and formerly of Havana, FL, passed away March 9, 2009. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Wilbur Powell and sister, Evelyn Proctor. Surviving are her son, Bill Moore,
daughter, Pat (DeRoy) Montz; grandchildren, David Montz, Deanna (Wesley) Sahm, Chuck Moore, Stephanie Moore, Sarah Moore and Elizabeth Wilcox and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. at Selma Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Gardner officiating. Interment will be in Fairhaven Baptist Church Cemetery in Rhine, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, March 11, 2009 from 4-6:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Whet Wilkinson, Bill Hall, Ken Schroeder, Mylette Cottingham, David Montz and Wesley Sahm.
