Zeb Murphy Jr., 83, of Lowndes County, died Saturday, January 17, 2009, at Vaughan Regional Hospital.
Services are scheduled for 12 noon, Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Miller Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Adkins officiating.
Burial will follow in Palmer cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Services.
Mr. Murphy was preceded in death by his wife Lillie Bell Murphy, his parents, Zebbie and Tessie Murphy and his son, Henry Murphy, Sr. Survivors includes six sons, Julius (Sharon) Murphy, O.V. Murphy, Theodore Murphy, Howard Murphy and Steve (Inell) Murphy all of New York and Freddie Marshall of Pensacola, FL; four daughters, Jessie (Curtis) Brown, Dyder (Lewis) Butler of New York, Brenda (Julius) Sledge of Chicago, IL. and Clara (Penrose) Thichklin of Lowndes County; one brother, John Ray (Annie Ruth) Murphy of Selma; one sister, Mary (Willie) Rubin of South Carolina; thirty two grandchildren, fifty seven great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, four sons-in-laws, three daughters-in-laws, two brothers-in-laws, three sisters-in-laws, a host of nieces and nephews; other relatives includes a daughter in law, Shelia Murphy of Selma and a grand son, Anthony of Lowndes County.
Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons.
