Robert James Lewis, age 56, a resident of Selma, AL passed away at his home on Sunday, January 4, 2009. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Lewis, grandmother Emma Lee Gould Reynolds, two sisters, Eddie Mae Parnell and Susie Ann Lewis, and two brothers, Jerry Lee Lewis and Henry Bernard Lewis.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jannita Orr Lewis; mother, Josie Mae Crawford Lewis; four children, Vickie Dowdell, Eric Hyatt, Kesha Ross, and Robbie Orr; twelve grandchildren, Camille, Courtney, Brittany, Erykah, Eric, Kiara, Kaleb, Joshua, Matthew, Shaquayla, Keke, and Kolby; mother-in-law, Fannie Orr; two sisters, Sarah Ann Marshall and Belinda Lewis Wells; and brother, Joseph Lewis.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 10, 2009, at 1PM, at New Sister Springs Baptist Church, 435 County Road 67, with Rev. Karl Lewis officiating.
