Gertrude Nichols Davis, age 89, of Selma passed away on Friday November 21, 2008. Funeral services will be held on Monday November 24, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Eaton officiating with burial following at Pineview Memory Gardens in Valley Grande.
Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband, Howard Davis, her son, Vester Averette, a daughter, Marie Averette Smith, nine brothers and a sisters.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her sons, Robert Averette of Mcminville, TN, Curtis Averette of Big Springs, TX, James Averette of Big Springs, TX, Raymond Cecil Davis of Selma, and Howard Davis, Jr. of Selma, her daughters, Ruth Morton of Virginia, and Shirley Smith of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, a brother R.V. Nichols of Marion, and numerous grand, great-grand, and great-great- grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday November 24, 2008 from
10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Activity Fund at Park Place Nursing Home, 100 Park Place Selma, AL 36701, in the name of Gertrude Davis.
