Logan Cowart and Daniel Lee made big plays for the Morgan Senators down the stretch and helped them squeak past Taylor Road 61-56.

After their lead was cut to one point, Cowart hit a pair of free throws to put Morgan back up 59-56. Then Lee stole a ball and hit the game-clinching shot with seconds left on the clock.

Cowart scored 15 points, Lee scored 14 and Weston Mason led the Senators (14-4) with 19.

Taylor Road’s Brandon Howard led all scorers with 19 points, and Courtney Brooks had 12.

The Morgan girls knocked off Taylor Road 45-37.

Jaye Lyn Lawrence scored a team-high 11 points for the Senators (11-6). Jaime Pillcher and Laura Lee Logan each had nine. Hayes Cothran had 16 rebounds and five points.

Laurie Watts had 16 points for the Tigers, and Dee Stewart had 15.
