Margaret Moore Boswell
Margaret Moore Boswell
Margaret Moore Boswell of Selma died November 16, 2005 at a local hospital.
Services are set for Saturday, November 19, 2005 at 10a.m. at Church Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Sandy Simmons officiating.
She was born in Athens, Tennessee on September 24, 1916 and moved to Boyd, Alabama in Sumter County where she lived for many years.
She graduated from Livingston University and taught school in Holtville, Alabama until she met and married Maurice Price Boswell in 1944 and moved to Selma, where she was a librarian at Craig Elementary School until she retired.
She was a long standing member of Church Street United Methodist Church where she served as the pianist for the Junior Department for many years. She later joined the Fellowship Class where she was active until her death.
She will always be remembered by her family and friends for her sweet smile and her care and concern for others.
Survivors include her daughters JoAnn Long and her husband Randy, Judy Blanton and her husband Don; grandchildren William Price Blanton, Donald Claiborne Blanton and Margaret Elizabeth Blanton.
She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice Price Boswell and her son William Maurice Boswell.
Active Pallbearers include Billy Blanton, Clay Blanton, Ben Beers, Milton Calhoun, Jim Thomas and Cartledge Blackwell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Claiborne Blanton, Bill Sellier, Bill Thomas and Buddy Riddle.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to a favorite charity.
Betty L. Brown
Mrs. Betty L. Brown, 85, of Orrville, Alabama died November 11, 2005 at Vaughan Regional Hospital. Services are scheduled for Saturday, November 19, 2005 at 1:00p.m. at Rising Star P.B. Church with Rev. Eugene Bennett officiating the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Miller Funeral Service Directing.
Survivors include three brothers, John (Louise) Johnson, Andrew (Mary Alice) Johnson of Orrville and Charles (Mary) Johnson of Chicago, IL; two sisters, Anna Johnson of Orrville and Lula Johnson of Lorian, OH; one brother-in-law, three sisters-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be her nephews and the flower bearers will be her nieces.

Willie Burke, 54, of Hayneville, Al died November 12, 2005. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2005 at 12:00 noon at the Mt. Gillard Baptist Church with Pastor Roy McQueen officiating. Burial in Mt. Gillard Church with Bell Funeral Home Directing.

Mr. Willie Lewis, Jr., 72, of Queens, New York, formerly of Boligee Alabama passed November 11, 2005 at Mary Immaculate Hospital, Queens, New York. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2005 at 2p.m. at the Little Zion Baptist Church, Gallion, Alabama. Rev. Willie Carter is the pastor. Rev. Michael Barton, Eulogist. Joseph Mitchell, 65, of Orrville, Alabama died November 16, 2005 at his home.
Services are scheduled for November 19, 2005 at 1p.m. at Pine Grove C.P. Church with Rev. Herman Olds officiating the service. Burial will be in the church yard cemetery. Directed by Miller Funeral Service.
Survivors include his mother, Bular Mitchell; three brothers, Charles (Louise) Mitchell, Sherman (Pamela) Mitchell and Herman (Mary) Mitchell; five sisters, Bernice Scott, Mary Jefferson, Cindy (Horace) Whatley, Juanita Wheeler, Helen (Anthony) Evangelist; four sister-n-laws and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.

Dorothy J. Pennyman
Dorothy J. Pennyman, 56, of Marion, Alabama died November 12, 2005 at Baptist Medical Center South. Services are scheduled for November 19, 2005 at 12:00 noon at Marion Baptist Academy with Rev. Bailey Dawson officiating the service. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. Directed by Miller Funeral Service.
Survivors include her husband Howard Pennyman and her mother Betty Kenney.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary Short, Aurelia Conner and Ruby Winston; 12 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews.
