CHAT splits with Keith

CHAT Academy split with the junior varsity team from Keith High school Wednesday night.

The CHAT Girls won 45-20 while the guys fell 41-39.

In the girls’ game, Keisha Moore served as the leading scorer with 18 points, 11 steals and 10 assists, notching an early triple-double on the season. Liddy Ngirailab finished the night with 10 points and seven assists. Tyneshia Ervin had eight points and six rebounds. Sherry Jackson had four points and two assists. Deanna Steele had only a trio of points but proved to be a threat on the defensive side of the ball with six rebounds. Christy Harris finished with a trio of points and blocks and then had six rebounds in the victory.

When the guys took the floor, Keaton Spears finished the night as the leading scorer with 15 points and five assists. Darrius Barlow had 12 points and six rebounds and Edward Bell finished with 10 rebounds, eight points and four assists. CHAT will be in action next against Camden Middle School tonight with tip set for 5:30 p.m. All three teams will be in action, the seventh grade squad, the girls and the boys teams will be looking for another win. The first home game is set for Nov. 17 against R.C. Hatch Middle School.
