Richard Earl Moore III
Richard Earl Moore III, 63, of Selma, died Monday, July 11, 2005, at his home.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at Brown Chapel AME Church with the Rev. Dennis Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his father, Dr. Richard E. Moore II; three sons, Richard Earl (Quanda) Moore IV., Russell Eugene (Claudia) Moore and Ronakd Edward Moore all of Atlanta, Ga.; two aunts, Helen Bell of Tuskegee, AL and Dorothy Lockett of Selma; very special friend, Ruthie Harris of Selma; friend, Keyonsis Olds of Selma; one brother, Reginald E. Moore of Selma; two sisters, Harriette M. Lacewell of Riverdale, Md., and Dr. Gwendolyn Tutt of Marietta, Ga.; seven grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret J. Moore.
Mr. Moore confessed Christ at an early age. He attend St. Elizabeth Elementary School, R.B. Hudson High School, Talladega College and Xavier University. He worked as a psychiatric technician with the VA hospitals in Los Angeles, Calif., and Atlanta, Ga.
James Hatcher
James Hatcher, 78, of Selma, died Thursday, July 7, 2005, at a local nursing home.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2005, at the Chapel of Miller Funeral Home with the Rev. B.A. Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.
Amos Patterson
Amos Patterson, 64 of Safford, died Saturday, July 9, 2005, in Safford, AL.
Services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, July 16, at Payne Chapel AME Church in Alberta, AL, with the Rev. Alex Tenner officiating. Burial will follow in Payne Chapel Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include three brothers, Tillman Patterson, Sherman Patterson and John Wesley Patterson; seven sisters, Vivian Mason, Fannie Cooper, Mamie Adger, Evelyn Patterson, Ameater Holliday, Elsie (Clarence) Boyd and Mildred (Thaddeus) Sanders; numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives.
Active pallbearers are family and friends.
Mildred L. Craig
Mildred L. Craig, 69, of Selma, died Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at a Montgomery hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at the Chapel of Miller Funeral Home with the Rev. Ocie Acoff officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include one son, Ivan (Sherie) Goodwin; three brothers, Anthony (Lois) Craig of Kileen, Tx., Tyler (Jackie) Craig of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Jimmy (Costella) Walter of Selma; two sisters, Geneva Phillips and Susie King of Selma; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two daughters-in-law; four sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Joe and Charlotte Craig, two sisters, Emma Lee Walters and Mary Jones and one brother, Juan Fitts.
Active pallbearers are nephews.

Colleen D.&8221;Cookie&8221; Sherrer, 53, of Selma, died Thursday, July 8, 2005, in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2005, at Grove Hill AME Zion Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include parents, Clara and Woodrow Frazier Pitts; two sons, John W. George Jr. and Najah Arnold both of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one daughter, Sonja Johnson of Selma; one brother, Woodrow Frazier Jr. (Marie) of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one sister, Anna Frazier of Pittsburgh, Pa.; eight grandchildren; one brother-in-law; five sisters-in-law.
Public viewing will be held on Friday, from 6-8 p.m.

Corene Wilson, 78, of Selma, AL, died Thursday, July 7, 2005, at a local hospital.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at New Bethany Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include five sons, Johnny Wilson Jr. (Lula) of Selma, AL, Perry L. Wilson of Detroit, Mich., Lee A. Wilson (Elaine) of Birmingham, AL, Lawrence Wilson (Emma) of Louisville, Ky., and Allen J. Wilson; four daughters, Lillian Henderson (Emanuel), Etta Safford and Delores Harrison of Selma, AL and Annie P. Reese (James) of Hinesville, Ga.; two sisters, Bertha L. King of Birmingham, AL and Katie Wilson of Sardis, AL; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sons-in-law; three daughters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Active pallbearers will be the Deacons.
