Thursday, representatives from various Dallas County governmental, health and charitable organizations gathered at the local EMA office to discuss Hurricane Dennis and its possible impact on Dallas County.
Howard said that residents of Dallas County can expect hurricane force winds and four to eight inches of rain – with some areas possibly getting as much as ten inches of rain.
He said that if residents are without water and electricity for several days, distribution sites will be set up throughout the county to provide people with ice, water, meals ready-to-eat (MRE’s) and tarps.
He said that additional factors in deciding if shelters will be opened depends on if the Governor recommends a mandatory evacuation of the Gulf Coast and if I-65 is reversed.
