To the editor,

I really enjoyed the article on former Selma High School football player, Donald Steele.

Every so often, a kid comes through the school system with the total package.

1. Believing in God

2. Obeying his/her parents

3. Good Grades

4. Good Talent

Some of these people include Chico Cleveland (UAB), Ben Obomanu (Auburn), Jai Miller (Florida Marlins), Roderick West (Alabama State), and now Donald Steele (Southern University).

All these players are cut from the same cloth.

Now if every parent would do his or her job. These five young men were raised at home first and taught at school second. No school system on God’s green earth can raise and teach your child.

Parents, do your job!
