Cleophus Charles Craig
Cleophus Charles “Hobo” Craig, died Saturday, May 14, 2005. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2005, at the Chapel of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include three sons; two daughters; four brothers; nine sisters; two great-aunts; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lillie B. Short
Lillie B. Short 93, of Dallas County, died Sunday, May 15, 2005, at a local nursing home.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 23, at the Chapel of Miller Funeral Home with the Dr. L.L. Ruffin officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include one son, Samuel G. Short; one sister, Sarah Mixon Benjamin; six nephews; four nieces; great-nephews and nieces; and a host of other relatives.
Active pallbearers will be nephews.
Linda Addell Dudley
Linda Addell Dudley, age 66, of Selma passed away May 18, 2005 at her residence.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 20, 2005, at 3:30 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Trawick officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing. Interment will be at Pilgrim’s Rest Church Cemetery in Maplesville, AL. She is survived by three sons, John Chandler, James Chandler, and Mike (Margaret) Chandler all of Selma, AL; one step-son, Steve Dudley of Tallassee, AL; one daughter, Dianne (Randal) Hindman of Marion, AL; one step-daughter, Patty (Vernon) Gill of Tallassee, AL; two brothers, Bill Goff of Calera, AL and Jonnie Ray Goff of Wilsonville, AL; four sisters, Peggy Docton of Shelby, AL, Lynn Bently of Calera, AL, Janice Lufk of Ennoth, TX and Rebecca Snell of Ben Wheeler, TX; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Brian Harris, Mike Tyler, Aubrey Posey, Steven Posey, Leland Stan Lawley, W. C. Hayes, Bobby Harrison and Danny Massa.
Josephine Vaughner-Taylor
Josephine Vaughner-Taylor, 93, of White Hall, died Friday, May 13, 2005. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. W.C. Heard officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Bell Funeral Home directing.

Phyllis Burke, of Montgomery, died Thursday, May 19, 2005/

Johnnie Snow
Johnnie Snow, 85, of Birmingham, died Sunday, May 18, 2005, in Birmingham.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Walker Mortuary.
Irene Kemp
Irene Kemp, 72, of Gallion, Alabama, passed Saturday, May 14, 2005, at a Tuscaloosa hospital.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Hopewell Baptist Church in Linden, with the Rev. John Watkins officiating the Rev. Joseph Harper, pastor. Burial will follow in Mt. Canaan Cemetery, Gallion, Alabama, with Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis directing.
The body will lie in state at the church on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m.
Willie Williams
Willie Williams, 74, of Linden, passed Friday, May 13, 2005, at a Demopolis hospital.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Friendship Baptist Church in Linden, with the Rev. E.L. Charleston, pastor and the Rev. Kenneth Raby officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis directing
The body will lie in state at the church on Saturday, beginning at 12 noon.
June Thompson Byarski
June Thompson Byarski, 92, died Thursday, May 19, 2005, at a local hospital.
Family visitation will be Friday, May 20, 2005 from 5-7 p.m. at Dock and Linda Nickles home (21 Glendale Dr., Selma, AL).
Funeral services will be held in Bad Axe, Michigan, with MacAlpine Funeral Home directing. Survivors include one son, Gordon (Sally) Thompson of Selma; grandchildren, Joyce Thompson of Michigan, Robert Thompson of Michigan, Stephen Thompson of Michigan, Linda Nickles of Selma, Mike Brown of Selma, Fran Moon of Tuscaloosa, and Libby Brown of Tenn. Mrs. Byarski was preceded in death by her husbands, Gordon H. Thompson and Albin Byarski.

Mary Duncan Chesnutt
Mary Duncan Chesnutt, widow of Ammie Bass Chesnutt, died Thursday, May 19, 2005.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Old Live Oak Cemetery with the Rev. Lee Tate officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
She was born in Selma on August 1, 1906.
She is survived by her daughter, Louise Chesnutt Walker and son-in-law, Robert Emmett Walker, III; her grandchildren, Robert Emmett Walker, IV and his wife, Cassandra of Birmingham, Margaret Walker Adams and her husband Dean Thomas Adams of Lebanon, Tennessee and James Rolen Walker of Atlanta, Georgia; her great-grandchildren include Elizabeth Church Walker and Sarah Frances Walker of Birmingham and James Walker Adams, William Sterling Adams and Walter Gordan Adams of Lebanon, Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Cahaba Hospice or Central Alabama Animal Shelter.
