Two Selmians appeared in court on Wednesday to face charges relating to the theft of $43,000 stolen from a Japanese production company.
Theodore Thespain Stallworth, 24, and Silideame R. Myers, 22, stood before Dallas County District Court Judge Nathaniel Walker yesterday at their first call felony hearing. Arthur Rivers, 19, failed to appear at the hearing, which led to a warrant being issued for his arrest, according to Dallas County Assistant District Attorney Mitzi Johnson-Theodoro.
A first call hearing is usually the first time a defendant stands before a judge.
The charges against the men stem from the alleged theft of $43,000 taken from a vehicle used by NTB Productions on March 7 around GWC Homes. Authorities brought Rivers and Myers into custody on March 10. Stallworth was arrested March 11.
Rivers is charged with receiving stolen property and unlawful breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. He also had outstanding warrants for theft of property third degree and unlawful breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. He made his $18,000 bond the day of his arrest.
Myers is charged with unlawful breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. He also made his $7,500 bond on his arrest date.
Stallworth remains in jail under $7,500 bond. He is charged with receiving stolen property first degree.
The men are scheduled to appear for their preliminary hearing on April 6. It’s expected Walker will determine if enough probable cause exists to bind the case over the grand jury at that time.
