Children of all ages better be on their best behavior this Saturday. Santa Claus is coming to town, at least for a few hours anyway, to spend some time with area children before Christmas.

Felecia Pettway, chapter president with Jack and Jill of America, said the organization will be hosting a &uot;Breakfast with Santa&uot; at Hampton Inn on Highland Avenue from 8 to 10 a.m.

Pettway said the party is held every year as a way to raise funds for the organization’s charitable foundation.

Tickets for the breakfast are $5 and all proceeds will go towards helping to alleviate community problems that affect children.

J.D. Davis, Hampton Inn general manager, said he is looking forward to having a hotel lobby full of children this weekend.

The manager said a large tree is already set up in the lobby and the company has spent nearly $400 on decorations in preparation for the arrival of the jolly fat guy.

Davis said the hotel will be serving its regular continental breakfast for the children, along with a few extra treats.

After the party, Pettway says the chapter’s Jack and Jill teams will go caroling at local nursing homes.

The team sponsor is local attorney Caroline Gaines-Varner and team president is Zakiya Varner.

Jack of Jill of America Inc. is a non-profit family organization for mothers of children between the ages of two and 19.

With chapter across the country, its objectives are to provide educational, cultural, civic, recreational, social and service programs for children.
