Leola L. Deramus
Leola L. Deramus, 89, of Selma, died Sunday, Aug., 3, 2003 at a local hospital.
Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, at New Live Oak Cemetery with the Rev. Calvin Strickland officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include her brother, Julius (Lucille) Latham of Montgomery; niece Mrs. Lavanna Mertz of Texas; nephew, Jesse L. Latham Jr.; and numerous cousins.
Family visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, prior to the service.
Cora King, 91, of Marion. Services were held Monday, August 4, 2003, at Eagle Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bailey Dawson Sr. officiating.
Burial followed in the church cemetery with Lee and Rollins Funeral Home directing.
Jessie Mae Billingsley
Jessie Mae Billingsley, 80, formerly of Brent. Services were held Monday, August 4, 2003, at Antioch Baptist Church in Brent, with the Rev. W.D. Dixon officiating. Burial followed in the Perkins Cemetery in Brent with Lee & Rollins Funeral Home directing.
Eddie Carlisle, of Marion. Services will be announced later by Lee & Rollins Funeral Home directing.
Fredrick Robinson, of Marion. Services will be announced later by Lee & Rollins Funeral Home.
Virgil Coleman Wilkinson
Virgil Coleman Wilkinson, died Thursday, July 31, 2003, at a Florida hospital.
Services were held on Saturday, August 2, 2003 at the Heritage United Methodist Church in Clearwater, Fla.
Survivors his wife of 42 years, Camille Kulcheski, a son, Robert C. Wilkinson (Jane) of Irmo, South Carolina; a daughter, Linda K. Wilkinson of Valparaiso; two brothers, James Stanley Wilkinson (Joyce) of Minter and Ralph Cecil Wilkinson (Rosalie) of Auburn; and a sister, Jeanine W. Brannum (Ray) of Guntersville; and six grandchildren.
Mr. Wilkinson was the son of Walter W and Katie F. Wilkinson of Selma. He was a 1948 graduate Albert G. Parrish High School in Selma and a graduate of Auburn University.
He worked 30 years for Westinghouse in Greenwood, SC and Jacksonville, Fla. and retired in 1991 as a planning manager. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, A faithful member of Heritage United Methodist Church, member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 10093, American legion, Post 238, and Elks Lodge 1525.
