Lillie Gardner Gadsden

Lillie Gardner Gadsden, of Selma, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002.

Services are at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 16, at Mt. Ararat M.B. Church with D. L.L. Ruffin officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include one brother, Stanley Gardner of Selma; one sister, Era Dean Gardner of Selma; a devoted niece and nephew and caretakers, Dorothy and Richard Lee; 10 nieces; 11 nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elliot Gadsden and her parents, Martha and Sullivan Gardner, three sisters and three brothers.

Active pallbearers are family and friends.

Flowerbearers are the Nurses Guild, church school and ushers.

Mrs. Gadsden was born of Aug. 10, 1916. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Ararat Church, where she remained until her health failed.

Patricia Rudolph Williams

Patricia “Pam” Rudolph Williams, 44, of Clarksville, Tenn., formerly of Selma, died Friday, June 7, 2002 at her home.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at Selmont Baptist Church, Selma, with the Rev. Bert Scott officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors at Fairlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Williams of Clarksville, Tenn; a son, Byron Sharay Williams of Clarksville, Tenn.; a daughter, Okema Tanisha Williams of Clarksville, Tenn.; her mother, Sophie Gordon Rudolph of Selma; two brothers, Delapha Rudolph of Clarksville, Tenn., and Carthone Rudolph Jr. of Selma; and four sisters, Annie Milhouse of Brooklyn, N.Y., Minnie Rudolph of Selma, Mary Fairley of Hinesville, Ga., and Lisa Taylor of Atlanta, Ga.

Mrs. Williams was born on Oct. 12, 1957 in Selma, to Carthone Rudolph and Sophie Gordon Rudolph.

She was a sales associate at Wal-Mart and a member of Boiling Spring Baptist Church.

Robert Gerald Caver

Robert Gerald Caver, 52, of Birmingham, formerly of Selma, died Monday, June 10, 2002.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Caver; sons, Waylon Caver and James Milling; daughters, Carla Caver and Brandy Lawley; grandchildren, James, Patricia and Kristin Lawley all of Birmingham; a brother, William Lewis Caver of Selma; sisters, Loretta Elmore of Orrville and Rosetta Arnold of Selma; and a special angel and caregiver, Dorothy McCay.

Charter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Camryn Wynn Mason

Camryn Wynn Mason, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at a Montgomery hospital.

Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Friday, June 14, in Gilbertown Cemetery with Pastor Bill Gardner officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include father and mother, John Mark Mason and Debbie Davis Mason; brothers, John Weston Mason II and Stennis Walker Mason all of Selma; grandparents are Perry and Joy Davis of Selma; aunt, Cheryl Till (Woody) of Selma; cousins, Davis Till and Ivy Till of Selma; uncle, Jim (Kristen) Davis of Tuscaloosa; and great-grandmother, Edith Doggett of Gilbertown.

“Mike” McMinn, 51, of Clanton, died Thursday, June 13, 2002.

Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at Sunshine Assembly of God with the Rev. Arthur Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Martin Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife Sharon McMinn of Clanton; a son, William Marcus McMinn of Clanton; a daughter, Amy Lynn Pilgreen of Verbena; brothers, William McMinn of Clanton, Julius McMinn of Jemison and Terry McMinn of Maplesville; sisters, Norma Dennis of Verbena, Alice Dempsey of Prattville, Margie McMinn of Maplesville, Diane Connell of Verbena, Brenda Langston of Clanton and Pam Bright of Maplesville; granddaughter, Tiffany McMinn of Clanton; grandsons, Slade Pilgreen and Mason Pilgreen both of Verbena.

Family visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, at Martin Funeral Home.

Fredrick Blackmon

Fredrick Blackmon, 62, of Selma, died Sunday, June 9, 2002 at a local hospital.

Services are at 12 noon Saturday, June 15, at Mt. Olive No.1 M.B. Church with the Rev. A. L. Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include two brothers, Alvin Blackmon and Herbert Blackmon; three sisters, Fannie Henderson, Louise Blackmon and Amanda Blackmon; one brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; five nephews; and six nieces; a special friend, Joanne Craig.

Active pallbearers are family and friends.

Lavernon C. Taylor

Lavernon C. Taylor, of Midwest, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002.

Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at the Chapel of Bell Funeral Home with the Rev. Emerson Ware officiating. Burial will follow in James Cemetery with Bell Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his mother and father, Hannah and Robert Taylor; a sister, Latonga (Rick) Fennie; and one nephew, Rickey Taylor Fennie.

Calvin L. Smith

Calvin L. Smith, of Letohatchee, died Saturday, June 8, 2002.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at the Calhoun High School Gymnasium with Elder Fletcher Fountain officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery in Letohatchee with Bell Funeral Home directing.

Irene Fitts

Irene Fitts, of Faunsdale, died Sunday, June 9, 2002 at a Selma hospital.

Services are at 12 noon Saturday, June 15, at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church, Faunsdale, with the Rev. Kelvin Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Faunsdale, with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.

The body will lie in state at the church on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.

Robert Knott

Robert Knott, 89, of Boligee, died Sunday, June 9, 2002 at a nursing home in Tuscaloosa.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at Springhill Baptist Church, Boligee, with the Rev. Dr. Thomas E. Gilmore officiating. Burial will in Knott Cemetery Boligee, with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.

The body will lie in state at the church beginning at 10 a.m.

Joe Nathan Thomas

Joe Nathan Thomas, of Forkland, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at a Birmingham hospital.

Services are at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 16, at St. Matthew Watson Baptist Church, Boligee, with the Rev. Robert T. Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Lloyd Chapel Cemetery with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.
