Dear editor,

I wanted to take the opportunity to give some much deserved appreciation to the folks at Warren Manor Nursing Home.

My mother, Rubye Hulak, went home to be with her Lord and Savior last week.

Prior to that, she had been a resident at Warren Manor. It was a very difficult decision for our family to finally decide to put mom in the nursing home.

I thought of it as a place that nobody should end up at. My experience with her there gave me a whole new insight and appreciation for the facility and those that work there.

From the first day she arrived, the team there tried to put my mind at ease that she would be well taken care of.

She wasn’t nearly as upset about it as I was. They gave her much love and attention and as she warmed up to the place and the people, I was able to rest a little easier about things.

After she had to give up her private room, and have a roommate I was a little dubious about the whole thing. I worried for nothing.

Mrs. Willie Hunter stole our hearts right off the bat. She has such a warm smile and ready laugh, and I could listen to her sweet voice all day. Mom loved her and we all had some great visits.

A visit to those girls could crack you up and you would always leave with a smile. Thank you Ms. Willie. You have been such a blessing to us.

It takes a special kind of person to work in a nursing home. Tending to the elderly and their special needs is not an easy task, but they always came in the room with a smile on their face and did their job with no complaints.

When they would leave the room, mom would smile and tell me little things about them that she learned from her time there.

They were her family, and she called that place home. It was a tremendous burden off of me to know that she was happy there and content. She had the best care possible I do believe.

Maybe this will help someone else who may be struggling with the nursing home decision. Don’t worry. God has a team of special angels that can take over and manage just fine.

Many thanks and much love to you all at Warren Manor.
