The Selma and Dallas County Chamber of Commerce golf tournament is still looking for teams to fill out its field.

The 3-man scramble, which will take place Thursday at Valley Grande Golf Course, had five spots in its 26-team tournament field remaining as of Friday afternoon.

The cost is $80 per person or $240 per team with all proceeds going to the chamber.

“We are a membership organization so our revenue is driven by our membership. This is the only event that we have that is not non-dues revenue, so it is the only fundraising we do,” said Sheryl Smedley, executive director of the chamber of commerce.

Smedley said there are still sponsorship opportunities available for teams too.

Teams can sponsor a hole for $125 or sponsor a par-3 for $300.

“It’s a great opportunity to showcase all of the business community that we have here, as well as the people and management team that drive the commerce in our community,” Smedley said.
