While geometrics have been a trend this year, somethings, like a great pair of boots, never got out of style.

As the weather continues to turn cold, many new items of clothing are coming into style.

This season will bring a lot of coats, scarves, gloves and boots, but the biggest difference is the pattern on these items.

Mary Susan Crovato shows off some of the winter looks vailable at Allez-oup. Big itemss this year include puffer vests and scarves.

“Geometrics have been the biggest trend this year, along with colors and emeralds,” said Janice Bolden, manager of Allez-oup. “The geometrics look good. The mixing of the stripes and florals, you wouldn’t think they would look good, but they do.”

Bolden said she has seen a major rise in the number of people buying items with geometric patterns, keeping the accessories simple.

She said ladies are gravitating towards jewelry with solid colors like silver, gold, black and dark colors. The ever-trendy diamond is in as well.

”You can pretty much wear [diamonds] with anything. It’s the same thing with gold and silver,” Bolden said.

Other trendy jewelry items continue to be crosses and stackable bracelets with uncut stones.

“I’ve been selling a lot of crosses,” Bolden said. ”It’s been a trend for a while.”

Bolden said although they continue to see ladies going after solid color coats, the hot item is a geometric patterned coat.

“Coats are in. They’ve been buying the solid colors, but they’ve been looking for the geometric coats,” Bolden said.

To go along with coats, the puffer vest continues to be a trend from years past.

“The puffer vest has been very popular. Even though it’s sleeveless, you can still be very warm in it,” Bolden said. “You can just make a t-shirt look good with a puffer jacket.”

Another item to keep warm this winter is the scarf. Many have been going after solid color scarves, pairing them up with their geometric clothing.

“Scarves have been very big. You can make any outfit look great with a scarf.”
