Letter to the editor commends Alabama Power employees

Dear editor,

I am a landowner in Selma on one of its county roads, and had a run in with an 18-wheeler and a low hanging wire last week where the wire did not belong to Alabama Power company. The 18-wheeler caught the wire and broke down four telephone poles, three of which were on my property and kept right on driving.

My first call was to 911 to let them know what had happened and my second call was to Alabama Power. It was about 20 minutes later when two power company men showed up to access the damage. When they saw what had happened they made some calls and within about 30 minutes about four crews of men showed up and went to work.

Each of those men knew what his job was and he did what he was supposed to do. They all worked together as a team from the time they got there until the time they left, approximately four hours later.

I just have to say those men did an excellent, professional job, from the top paid man to the lowest paid man. I want to say thank you for the good job that you all did, and I am proud to be a customer of Alabama Power.
