Morgan hosts final track meet before AISA State Finals

The Morgan Academy Senators hosted a track meet on Monday that served as their final preparation for the state meets next week.

Morgan hosted its second track meet of the year, with more than 20 Alabama Independent School Association teams attending to compete at Memorial Stadium.

For the girls team standings, Lee-Scott Academy finished first overall with 96 points.

The Morgan girls finished sixth overall with 47 points.

For the boys team standings, Lee Scott finished first with 92 points.

Highlights for Morgan in Monday’s meet include Jaycee Sanders finishing first in the girls 3200-meter run with a time of 14:24, Amy Chandler finished second in the 1600-meter relay with a time of 5:07.94, Megan Leigh Siddens finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.35, and Natalie Henry finished third in the 3200-meter relay with a time of 12:27.27.

Scott Barton finished sixth in the boys 1600-meter relay with a time of 4:23.50, the Morgan girls finished sixth in the 800-meter relay with a time of 2:04.43, Siddens finished sixth in the 400-meter relay with a time of 57.06, Sanders finished fifth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 6:44.84, Anna Laken Tidmore finished fifth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 6:54.42, Henry finished sixth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 6:55.11, and Kinsley Mott finished fifth in the 3200-meter run with a time of 17:43.

Morgan will compete in the AISA state meet on April 17-18 at Memorial Stadium.
