Mr. Fern J. Spivey , resident of Selma, passed away March 17, 2013 at UAB Hospital. Services will be held March 23, 2013, 1:00 p.m. at Freedom Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Vernon Spicer. Burial will be directed by Miller Funeral Service of Selma.

Survivors include spouse Sharon Spivey; parents Frank (Mary) Spivey; three sons, Jerald Spivey, Jerald Smiley, Jacobe Smiley; one daughter, Laginia Smiley; two brothers, Lorenzo Spivey and Eric Spivey; sister, Valarie Neely; four nieces and five nephews. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
