Margaret Lucille Phillips Yow, age 97, a resident of Prattville, AL passed away Friday, November 9, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas E. and Annie Lou Phillips, Sr.; two brothers, Thomas E. Phillips, Jr. and William Goodwin Phillips; one sister, Louise Lewis Matlock. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn Yow (Paul) Whaley and Margaret Olive (Brad) Grimes; one grandson, David Cothran and one adopted grandson, Paul C. Whaley and numerous other relatives. Mrs. Yow retired from J.C. Penny in Selma, AL. after 20 years of service. Funeral services were held Monday, November 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM from St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Mark Waldo, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in New Live Oak Cemetery. Pallbearers were Paul Cameron Whaley, Brad Grimes, Michael Breedlove, David Gatch, Michael Grigsby and Andrew Grigsby. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Autauga County Humane Shelter.
