Dallas County Farm Week is an event designed to further the belief that “One picture is worth a thousand words.”

The mission of the National Farm-City Council is to strengthen the understanding of these farm-city connections.

Currently, there are Farm-City organizations in 49 states which sponsor events to promote understanding and increase cooperation between rural and urban residents.

The theme this year is “Harvesting Healthy Choices.” There will be nutritional information there for pickup.

They will also present awards for the poster and essay contest.

The event, which will be held at the Central Alabama Co-op on Highway 80 West, begins at 7:30 a.m. Tickets are $10 per person and $75 for a table of eight.

Checks should be made payable to Leadership Selma-Dallas County Inc. and mailed to 912 Selma Ave., Selma, 36701.
