A Selma man is being held without bond in the Dallas County Jail, charged with capital murder in the shooting death of Helen Roper.

Selma Police Lt. Art Freine said the arrest was made Monday evening. Thaddeus Aaron, who lives on Woodrow Avenue in Selma, is also charged with first-degree assault in the shooting of Roper’s brother, Marvin Maul.

Roper, 43, died last week from her gunshot injuries. A bullet grazed Maul, in the same incident on Voeglin Avenue.
