Ms. Patricia C. Tolbert was born September 4, 1951 to the late Ben Allen Cole and the late Marion Cole.

She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Ebenezer Baptist Church.  She later became a member of Green St. Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Second Missionary Baptist Church.

Patricia was a 1969 graduate of RB Hudson High School. She served in the United States Air Force and later received a Cosmetology degree from Wallace Community College Selma.

On July 10, 1970 she was united in holy matrimony to James E. Tolbert Jr. and to that union a child was born, James E. Tolbert III.

She became the second Woman Firefighter of Selma Alabama and later became the Co-owner of New Shapes Styling Salon until the passing of her husband where she then became the co-owner of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home where she served the families of Selma, Dallas County and surrounding areas for many years.

Patricia received her heavenly wings and departed this life on Thursday, April 22, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband James E. Tolbert Jr., her father Ben Cole and her mother Marion Cole.

A graveside celebration of life has been scheduled for Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 11 a.m. from the Pineview Memory Gardens with Pastor Davon Simpson, officiating.  There will be public viewing on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 1-6 p.m. at Second Baptist Missionary Baptist Church with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home serving with excellence through professional service.

She leaves to cherish her memories a loving son and daughter-in-law James Edward Tolbert III and Ann Tolbert of Muskogee Oklahoma, three grandchildren James (Mariah) Tolbert IV of Broken Arrow Oklahoma, Brittney (Emmanuel) Johnson and Paisley Tolbert of Muskogee Oklahoma. Five great grandchildren Jaiden, Zaylen, Emani, Eriel and Emmanuel Jr. One brother Derrick Cole of Selma, Alabama, one uncle Will Jones of Selma, Alabama, Five brother-in-law‘s John Kid of Detroit Michigan, Andrew Calhoun of Mobile, Milton (Faye) Calhoun, Horace “Rick” (Alice) Calhoun and Roy Calhoun of Montgomery Four sister-in-law‘s Catherine Miles of Fort Wayne Indiana, Gloria Bellariel Of Houston Texas, Rose Calhoun of Fort Wayne Indiana and Ann (Bill) Calhoun Easley of Warren, Michigan. One godson Aubrey Larkin, Jr. of Selma, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, special friends and caregivers.
