Selma suspect charged with attempted murder

A Selma man was arrested Wednesday for attempted murder from a case that occurred last spring.

Alexander Burton, 26, is charged with attempted murder and five other charges, according to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson.

Jackson said Burton is also being charged failure to appear domestic violence strangulation and suffocation, failure to appear resisting arrest, two counts of discharging gun into occupied building and first-degree criminal mischief.

Jackson added that Burton being charged from an incident that took place April 27, 2020 at the 1700 block of Mabry Street, where a house and car was shot into and another car set on fire. The Selma Police Department investigated the incident.
