Second Selma teenager charged with capital murder

A second Selma teenager was charged with capital murder over the last few days.

According to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson, Andre Bennett Jr. has been arrested and charged with the murder of Danathian Crum.

Bennett was arraigned Monday by Perry County District Court Judge Robert Bryant. He set a no bond for Bennett, 17, who remains in the Dallas County Jail.

The other suspect in the Crum murder case, Justin Manzie, was arrested by the DCSO on Nov. 22.

Crum died after he was shot and robbed Oct. 25 at a house at the 700 block of Avenue A in Pine Glen Estates on Craig Air Field Base

Jackson said Bryant set Bennett’s preliminary hearing date for Feb. 13 at 10 a.m., the same day as Manzie.
