Selma High offensive lineman Maximus Jones and defensive end Jo-Varsva Sims will play for the South All-Star squad on July 18 at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

Southside offensive lineman William Wright, a member of The Selma Times-Journal’s All Dallas County football team, will play in the contest.

“I feel great about being picked, it shows that my all of my hard work and dedication in the offseason really payed off and worked in my favor,” Wright said.

Two Southside High School coaches will also take part: former head coach Daniel Flowers as an assistant for the South and assistant coach Cedric Brown as Administrative coach for the North. Flowers left Southside and is now coaching at Wenonah High School.

“With two coaches and a player from Southside, it’s great for Southside High School to be part of the game,” Flowers said. “Now that I have left Southside, it’s also great for Wenonah High.”

Head coach for the South is Dadeville High School Coach Richard White. The North head coach is Winfield Coach David McKinney.

The South leads the all-time series 30-27-2, but the North won 27-14 last year.
