The Selma and Dallas County Chamber of Commerce will hold its 22^nd annual Golf Tournament on Wednesday at the Valley Grande Golf Course.

The Flighted 3-person scramble will start at 11 a.m. The format includes two mulligans per play

Chamber executive director Sheryl Smedley said the conditions are ideal for a strong day of golf. Two years ago, the event was postponed because of heavy rain and flooding that hit Dallas County.

“The weather will be perfect, it will be a perfect day for golf,” Smedley said. “We’re looking forward to having a great day on the greens.

Smedley said that 20 teams have signed up to play in this year’s tournament.

The tournament sponsors are Bush Hog, Southern Linc, Store Room Fasteners, Big River Car Wash and Carter Drug Company.

Last year, Morgan Academy won first place in the first flight, Grindle Tires won first place in the second flight and Steward Construction won first place in the third flight.

Second place winners were Pine Belt Wireless for flight one, First Avenue Cleaners for flight two and Vaughan Regional Medical Center won second place for flight three.
