On Saturday, June 23, at 9 a.m.-noon, car lovers can rejoice as Turner Chevrolet of Selma hosts its 3rd annual Customer Appreciation Day at 1800 Highway 14 East.

Customers will have the opportunity to view and inquire about the many cars that will be displayed. These vehicles vary in model and time periods.

The Corvette Club of Montgomery will also be present to show case many vehicles.

Admission is free; food and beverages will be available.

Milam Turner III, the president of Turner Chevrolet of Selma, said that this event is a way for the staff at Turner Chevrolet to thank the community for the many years of business.

“It’s just a way for us to say ‘thank you’ to the community,” Turner said. “And thank you to Selma for the support that they have given Turner Motor Company since the 1940s. It’s just absolutely fantastic. Our family has been doing business in this part of Alabama since the 20s, so we’ve been doing this for 10 decades and it’s just a way for us to say ‘thank you so much.’ Selma is a great place to live, great folks, and we just want to give back.”

According to Turner, the turnout for last year’s event was “fantastic.” Many individuals came from different areas within the country to showcase their unique vehicle(s). An individual from Richmond, Virginia showcased his 1930s Model Buick, an antique vehicle not commonly seen in the public.

Turner has been working at Turner Chevrolet of Selma since 1992, and finds his overall experience to be great. He said he enjoys assisting customers.

“It’s great. I grew up here and I have a family and kids that live here, and it’s just a wonderful experience,” Turner said.

Turner also thanked William Brown, who assisted in organizing the event and contacting the Corvette Club of Montgomery and other clubs within the state. He also contacted the individual from Richmond, Virginia to bring down his vehicle once again, as well as another vehicle he owns.
