The Low Country Boil this past Thursday drew a big crowd to support the Old Depot Museum in downtown Selma.

There was live music and all-you-can-eat crawfish for everyone to enjoy and socialize over for a good cause.

The Boil is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Old Depot Museum, according to its director Beth Spivey.

The museum, which holds a variety of artifacts representing the history of Selma, is an important part of the downtown experience. Tourists can learn more about the history of this city, and locals can depend on the museum to remind them how far the city has come.

Community events such as the Boil are great ways to bring everyone together for a good cause. The city just feels different when people are outside, smiling and having a good time.

According to Spivey, the money from the Boil is going towards funding future projects at the museum.
