Shots fired lead to drug arrests

Officers responded to a shots fired call at the Ramada Inn on Highland Avenue early Thursday morning.

According to Selma Police Department Sgt. Kenta Fulford, Curtis Strong ran to the hotel after being shot at near his Merrimac Place home. There, he called 911 and police responded.

Once they arrived, the police searched Strong’s house and saw evidence where bullets had gone through the windows and door. While searching the house police also found guns and marijuana.

Strong and Requita Marshall were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.

Fulford said two children were also in the house during the shooting, but that no one was injured.

No arrests have been made in conjunction with the shooting.
