This is in response to Mr. Brown’s letter in the Times Journal on Tuesday.  Mr. Brown I want you to understand that Mr. McConnell did not preach his doctrine.  He quoted everything from scripture.  Especially that Jesus Christ is Lord, Holy Spirit and God  the Holy Trinity. God is three-in-one.  He also preached that the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ our Savior. Period.

Now as for your comments on slander, Mr. McConnell used tapes of Mr. Duke’s own words from his own mouth.  You cannot slander someone with their own words.

Basically Mr. Brown, it sounds more like you are spreading the wrong information and “twisting” the truth.  I believe Mr. McConnell did mention that in his meeting Sunday night. We are God-fearing, Jesus-loving Christians.  We want to spread love, not hate, and we will be glad to share this with you if we should ever meet face to face. I beg for you to go back and listen to the tape again. I pray that something in that speech will touch your heart.  You can not get to heaven by your “fruits,” aka works, but only through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Please accept Jesus into your heart.  That is all we are trying to accomplish.
