Runaway girl found safe

A 15-year-old Selma girl that allegedly ran away from home has been found safe.

Lt. Sam Miller with the Selma Police Department said Brionna Lashley Murphy was found Monday night.

Miller said officers received a phone call telling them Murphy was at the Chanticleer Apartments on Woodrow Avenue, where they initially suspected she might be.

“[Officers] went up there and ended up making contact with her,” Miller said. “She was found safe and unharmed.”

Murphy allegedly ran away from home on the 1200 block of Green Street Sunday and was reported as a runaway by her mother to the police department.

Miller said Murphy has a history of running away from home before, and she was taken to the juvenile detention center after she was found safe Monday.

Miller said Murphy is scheduled to appear before a juvenile judge.
