Local attorney Tommy Atchison is teaming up with well-known personal injury attorney Alexander Shunnarah to provide Selma and the Black Belt region with legal services.

“I’m excited about joining a team like Shunnarah Personal Injury lawyers, and having, as Alex says, boots on the ground here in Selma,” Atchison said.

“We’re eager to serve the members of this community.”

Atchison, who hopes to open the law firm at 300 Broad Street by mid-February, has been serving the local community for several years now. He said he is excited to be giving back to a community that means so much to him.

“I love Selma. I love the Black Belt,” Atchison said. “The buildings and the architecture and the history — all that’s great, but what really draws my heart to this community is the people.”

Shunnarah said he is excited to be opening up a location in Selma, though he has been serving the area for nearly 10 years.

“I’ve represented and provided legal work to Selma for 10 years, but typically it’s been out of my Birmingham office,” Shunnarah said. “We just thought it was time to actually open up a physical location here.”

Shunnarah said having an office in town will be great for clients that want to come by for legal help, or just to say hello.

“We want everyone in Selma to know, if they need excellent representation, that we’re here for them,” Shunnarah said.
