Albert Davis walked the halls of Southside High School for the first time in 35 years Saturday.

Davis and 55 of his classmates came together for their 35-year reunion.

“There hasn’t been much change in the school as far as the buildings go,” said Davis, who came down from Chesapeake, Va., for the reunion. “It’s the change of technology that is amazing. When we went to school here, books were the primary tools, but now they have computers and smart boards to help learn, too.”

Marvin Milton was another Panther at his first reunion.

“It has been a great time seeing old classmates,” said Milton. “Some of these people I haven’t seen in 35 years.”

Sherry Goldsby, who helped put together the reunion said her classmates had a great time seeing each other.

“It’s been wonderful seeing everybody so far,” said Goldsby. “We have had fun the past couple of days.”

According to Goldsby, classmates and their families arrived Friday night at a local hotel to spend time together.

Saturday morning the reunion toured Southside.

For some of the attendants, it was the first time since they graduated in 1975.

The group then had a picnic before their banquet Saturday night.

Today the classmates will travel to Montgomery for a boat ride before ending their reunion.
