Dream comes true for Orrville native

Jacqueline &uot;Polly&uot; McMillan surveyed the brightly colored rooms of the renovated house that is now a daycare at 21 Satterfield St., and realized she has reached a dream.

Polly’s Daycare Center, where McMillan is the owner, held its ribbon cutting Wednesday.

McMillian, an Orville native, attended the University of Alabama, Stillman University, and Faulkner University. She has been working with children and families for 13 years, and has lived in Selma for eight.

The teachers at Polly’s have all worked with children and are trained to work with those who are disabled.

Polly’s Daycare is McMillian’s first daycare, offering care for infants, toddlers, preschool, and after-school age children four weeks to 13 years old. She currently employs five staff members and presently has 12 applicants enrolled.

Polly’s Daycare Center is open Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.. For more information call 877-0409.
