The Selma Housing Authority has taken over the management of Jim Minor Garden Homes.
The SHA and Dallas County Commission, who own the property, reached a deal after months of discussion.
“We are excited to announce the management of Jim Minor Garden Homes and are thrilled to serve our new tenants,” SHA executive director Kennard Randolph said. “As we begin this new journey together, we met with the tenants to emphasize the importance of communication, cooperation, and respect in managing our community. Our top priority is ensuring that our tenants enjoy safe and decent living by any means necessary.”
Dallas County Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn said that money and rent goes to Dallas County, but they will pay SHA a monthly management service fee for managing the complex.
Randolph said the SHA will upgrade the facility.
Dallas County deputies and SHA security officials will keep constant surveillance on the property.
