A Dallas County jury convicts a Selma man of murder from a gas station shooting in 2018.

According to the Dallas County courthouse, Jimmy Lee Tyus was convicted of murder, including two counts of first-degree assault and shooting into-an occupied vehicle.

Tyus killed 26 year old Earnest Daniels III at the Raceway Gas Station on Highland Avenue in 2018. Court records show the jury deliberated on June 13 nearly three hours before issuing a guilty verdict.

Tyus will be sentenced at a later date and faces between 10 to 99 years or life in prison.
