Dallas County Sheriff’s Office Chief Jonathan T. Cole, as Interim Police Chief by Mayor James Perkins Jr. on Friday. Perkins said the appointment will be in place until the Selma City Council decides on the status of suspended Chief Kenta  Fulford. 

“I thank Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum for the assistance he continues to provide  to the City as I continue addressing internal law enforcement issues,” Perkins said. 

The Personnel Hearing for Fulford has been reset by the City Council for June  24, at 5 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.

Cole is currently the DCSO’s Chief Investigator and Assistant Chief.
