Former Morgan Academy class salutatorian Margaret Holladay earned the Tagged for Academic Excellence Scholarship at the Alabama Cattlemen’s Foundation (ACF) scholarship Banquet on May 3 in Wetumpka. 

Holladay, who graduated from Morgan Academy two years ago, is majoring in agricultural communications at Auburn University. Holladay is the daughter of Richard and Whitney Holladay of Hayneville.

The ACF awarded 113 scholarships valued over $110,000 during the 2023-24 school year. 

“The Alabama Cattlemen’s Foundation has provided ample opportunity to outstanding young people for decades,” Alabama Cattlemen’s Association executive vice president Erin Beasley said. “This has fostered an environment to develop, educate and award youth in our state who appreciate their roots in the cattle industry. These scholarships are not possible without the generous support of people who purchase Cowboy vanity tags for their vehicles and special families who have endowed scholarships through the foundation.”
