Selma nurses will be honored Sunday; Dallas County Zetas sponsors

The Selma Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. will honor 35 nurses and healthcare workers on Sunday at the George P. Evans Building from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The event, presented by the Rho Eta chapter, is being sponsored by the Selma Fire Department, City of Selma, Gamma Alpha Alpha Zeta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority,  Vaughan Regional Medical Center, Alabama Nurses Association, Alabama State Missionary Baptist Convention and Black Kidney Awareness, Resources and Education (K.AR.E). 

Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. is an international professional organization of registered nurses and nursing students. The motto is “Service for Humanity.” It was founded in 1932 at Howard University. The Selma chapter was chartered in 1989.

New officers will also be installed at the event, including Dr. Shelicia Morton Ford as president and Dr. Constance Hendricks as program chair and vice president.
